Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. She worked later as morning news anchor for WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. O'Dell's articles in Charleston, about how the Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
